I deleted the account from PowerMail. I tried to put it in new instead
of editing it and that didn't work. I deleted the new one shut down and
restarted PowerMail and put in the account new with all the same
settings and it worked just fine. 

I should have had a little more patience. Or maybe I can just lay it to
the fire gremlins which are lurking around still.
