I'm having difficulty getting MM to connect to a POP account with a French ISP and would appreciate help, as I can get to the account easily with both Thunderbird and MyPopBarrier.
The ISP offers POP, IMAP and webmail access. I have configured PM exactly as I have the other two programmes, all set up for POP access. Both of them find the ISP address (pop3.orange.fr) quickly while PM takes nearly half a minute to do so. And when PM has located it and tried to log in, it generates the error message 'Hostname "[EMAIL PROTECTED] Configuration d'un accés IMAP'. If I then try setting PM up to access it as IMAP, I get the same search delay followed by the same error message. This all makes me wonder whether my PM account settings have been damaged and/or if PM is not telling the ISP correctly that it wants to make a POP connection to it. I tend not to blame the ISP because the other two programmes can collect mail OK from it. Ideas/suggestions anyone? -- Charles PM 5.6.3 - Intel iMac - OS 10.4.10
