I can send mail without a problem. Port 995 is used for receiving. My settings are: POP3 User account ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] or username Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com Checked "Save password" (password) Checked "Use secure connection (SSL/TLS)" Checked "Use port" 995 Dotted "On a dedicated secure port" I do not have the Mac OS X firewall turned on, and our DSL modem/router just uses NAT as a firewall. I have Gmail set up twice in PowerMail, once with the "@gmail.com" and once without it. Nothing comes in either way. - Winston Matthias Schmidt wrote: >Winston, > >my guess is that either the port 587 is blocked or you entered something >incorrectly. > >This setup from Angelica: > >>>Receiving: >>>POP3 >>>User ID: full email address with @gmail.com >>>Incoming: pop.gmail.com >>>Advanced: check SSL, use port 995 and click on dedicated secure port >>> >>>Sending: >>>SMTP: smtp.gmail.com >>>Authenticate: full email address again >>>Advanced: check SSL, use port 587 and click on Using the STARTTLS command > >works as long as you have POP enabled in your gmail account. > >I never tried IMAP. > >all the best >Matthias > >Am/On Wed, 9 Jul 2008 00:03:15 -0400 schrieb/wrote Winston Weinmann: > >>My Gmail works for sending mail, but not for POP receiving. I have even set up another Gmail account. I can send email via Gmail from PowerMail, but when I check mail nothing comes in. POP mail is on for both Gmail accounts, Gmail POP worked using Apple Mail on another computer. And as I noted earlier, PowerMail only acknowledges checking 2 accounts when it checks for mail (although it in fact receives mail for 3 other accounts besides the 2 Gmail accounts, so it should say checking mail for 5 accounts). I also could not get Gmail POP to work on a backup copy of PowerMail on another computer. However, when I set up a new user environment on the other computer, with one Gmail account as the only account, it worked. So, there is something in my current PowerMail user environment which is not letting Gmail get checked. Any thoughts on fixing this? - Winston MB wrote: >Matthias Schmidt said: > >>so my guess is there's something wrong with your setting in PM. >>I'd suggest you to delete the account in PM and also to delete any entry >>related to that account in your keychain. >>When you did that, recreate the account and double check, while entering >>the password. > >I second that opinion. The obvious possibility is the kist under "Connect" (command-K) I'd assume that the account is enabled there, but it's worth a check. I don't know of any other place.
