North Anna's provides the following response: We have very few electronic dosimeter alarm "spikes" due to the strong EMF generated during welding activities. But some newly purchased bolt heating equipment caused several issues with the DMC-2000S at one of our sister stations. We ordered some of the DMC-2000 SOR/Rs to test and evaluate prior to our refueling outage. We had no dosimeter spikes with the DMC-2000 SOR/Rs after rigorous testing with various EMF fields from welding equipment, heaters, motors, and transformers, etc.
Similar to Palo Verde, we found that the military version of the DMC-2000S, the SOR/R is not susceptible due to the way the antenna is constructed and placed inside the dosimeter. We tested this against both EMF and EMI fields at our sites. In addition, the display screen was easier to see by our workforce. Hope this helps! Barbara J.
