Fermi uses 1.2.  This corresponds to 20% attenuation provided by the mylar coating (0.5 mg/cm2) on our Am-241 calibration source (simulated filter).

Subject: Powernet: Alpha self absorption or transmission factor

Exelon would appreciate any input for the following:

What does your site use for an alpha self absorption (or transmission) factor?

What is the basis?

Thanks in advance,
