Monticello does test vacuum cleaners using an Aerosol Photometer 2H (ATI product). The 2H model uses a liquid agent called PAO (Poly-Alpha Olefin), not DOP.
Most of our vacuums are Tornados; no special filters, just the standard HEPA filter that comes with the vacuum. Units are tested with every filter change and any other time that the filter housing is opened. Test failures are generally the result of installing filters incorrectly. ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of BJ Thompson Sent: Thursday, May 26, 2011 9:09 AM To: [email protected] Cc: Robert McNutt Subject: Powernet: DOP Testing Vacuum Cleaners North Anna would like to know - Do you DOP test Vacuums? If so, what kind of vacuums do you use? If so, do you use special filters for the vacuum? If so, how often do you DOP them? What is the failure rate? What equipment do use to DOP test with including the smoke generator? Thanks in advance for your help! Barbara J.
