From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Pell, Bryan Sent: Friday, August 12, 2011 9:46 AM To: '[email protected]' Subject: Powernet: Invitro Sampling Constellation does not require workers coming on site to submit urine samples as part of in/out-processing. However, this is standard practice at DOE and FUSRAP sites. At this time, we would require invitro sampling only if we suspected an uptake. There is a suggestion on the table that we establish a reference baseline, especially for workers who intend to work in Alpha Level 3 areas. The proposal goes like this...if we have work planned in an Alpha Level 3 area, we obtain urine samples prior to the job. If the job doesn't go so well and the worker in the Alpha Level 3 area has a suspected intake, we would send the before and after samples out for analysis. If the job goes well and there is no suspected intake, we dump the baseline sample. What is the policy at your site? I'm especially interested in hearing from Bruce (SEN 286) and Oconee (OE31303/32020). Thanks, Bryan Bryan S. Pell R.E.
