The South Texas Project developed an in-house computerized attendance sheet for
RWP briefings and ALARA meetings. Individuals are added to the
briefing/meeting documentation by scanning a bar code on their TLD that
provides unique identification of the individual. Manual keyboard entry may be
used if necessary. By default, briefings are good for the shift.

At login, the access control software verifies that a valid briefing exists for
that individual on that RWP (and Work Authorization Number). If not, access is
denied and the access control software displays a "required briefing not
performed" message.

Subject: Powernet: Radiological Briefing Attendance Record Keeping
Importance: High

Progress Energy's Brunswick Plant ALARA organization is asking for input on the
following;

* Tracking mechanism for individuals having been briefed on RWP/ AWP

Currently BNP is tracking attendance using an attachment, located in the
briefing procedure. BNP is also using laminated cards which have AWP #'s. Cards
are hole punched for each AWP briefed. Attendance sheets are burdensome and
hard to track, and time consuming with vaulting of the records.

Rad Protection is looking for ways to better track and document AWP/ RWP
attendance.

Thank you for your time
