Grand Gulf does not require TLDs for entry to the protected area. We do
require it for all personnel entering our RCA. We do maintain area badges in
all occupied spaces to document if there is a problem with area exposures.
This also verifies that no one exceed limits for un-monitored workers.

We were using this process at H2 injection levels of 72 scfm and 105 scfm. We
are currently injecting noble metals and are injecting H2 at <20 scfm.

Our policy is that everyone entering our RCA be monitored by TLD and EAD. If
you are here less than 1 week and are not doing 'work' you may be allowed in as
a visitor with a 10CFR19 briefing, escort and dosimetry. Otherwise its full
training and dosimetry.

Subject: Powernet: Do you require TLDs for Entry into BWR Protected Area?

Brunswick is a BWR with moderate HWC injection. Our current policy is to
require all personnel entering the Protected Area (PA) to obtain a TLD and
Radworker Training before entry. This includes visitors who will only be
onsite for a short period of time ( 1 - 2 weeks, or less) and only enter the PA
infrequently during their visit.

Is this consistent with other BWRs? BWRs with moderate HWC?

If not, what is your TLD/Radworker training policy for entering the Protected
Area?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
