I would like to thank you all for the response to my question. Considering the regulatory & oversight organization's stance on the issue as well as a very clear industry trend, my decision is easy - we are going to remove the PA entrance gamma portal monitors.

At FCS, we currently have them at both the entrance and exit to the protected area. Our reasons lie with both local and industry OE as well as a strong desire that we know about anything radioactive coming in the PA - from whatever source.
