Subject: Powernet: Protected Area Entrance Gamma Portal Monitors

I'm researching the usage of gamma portal monitors (e.g., PM-7, GEM-5,
etc.) at the entrance to the Protected Area. There is very specific
guidance for having the monitors at the exit to the protected area, but
I cannot find anything for the entrance - I've spoken with both ANI &
INPO on the topic. At FCS, we currently have them at both the entrance
and exit to the protected area. Our reasons lie with both local and
industry OE as well as a strong desire that we know about anything
radioactive coming in the PA - from whatever source.

Question: Does your site have gamma portal monitors at the protected
area entrance & what is your reasoning?

Thanks,
