Columbia would like information regarding the use of an HP Technician as a Locked High Radiation Area Posting:
1. Do you use in any circumstance a qualified RP Technician as a LHRA posting. For example the technician serves as the physical sign/posting. 2. If yes, what bases allows this practice (i.e. Tech Specs, FSAR, Fed Reg interpretation, procedural definition). At Columbia an ANSI qualified HP Technician is allowed to serve as the RWP, the LHRA barricade (i.e. the area is posted and the technician provides the entrance barricade by guarding) and is ALSO allowed to serve as the physical posting and irradiator/calibrator controls for short duration calibration source shots or irradiator shots.
