Hard hats are worn on the front count on the IMP(s) and removed / placed on a
hook to be monitored by the top left head detector on the back count. This was
in response to.... internal / external OE from many years ago where activity
was on the brim of the hat and the IPM missed it when worn throughout the
monitoring process.

Duke Energy would like to know what policy other sites have for hard hats at
the RCA exit. Do you require employees to put them in the SAM with other
personal hand carried items or do you have employees wear the hard harts
through the whole body monitor(s) (Argos/PCM/Portal)

Duke's current "empty pockets" policy requires hard hats be monitored through
the SAM and we are interested in what other policies are being used and what
technical justification, if any, the policy based on.

Thanks,
Graham Johnson
