North Anna does not require workers to monitor their hard hats in the SAM.
Workers wear their hard hats during PCM contamination monitoring. We do have
an "empty pocket" requirement for exiting the RCA but hard hats are not
included.

Subject: Powernet: Hard Hats at RCA Exit

Duke Energy would like to know what policy other sites have for hard hats at
the RCA exit. Do you require employees to put them in the SAM with other
personal hand carried items or do you have employees wear the hard harts
through the whole body monitor(s) (Argos/PCM/Portal)

Duke's current "empty pockets" policy requires hard hats be monitored through
the SAM and we are interested in what other policies are being used and what
technical justification, if any, the policy based on.

Thanks,
Graham Johnson
