Palo Verde provides the following response:

Hard hats are worn thru the PCMs and we have an 'empty pockets' policy
requirement for exiting the RCA. We do allow hard hats to be surveyed /
released via the SAM.

Subject: Powernet: Hard Hats at RCA Exit

Duke Energy would like to know what policy other sites have for hard hats at
the RCA exit. Do you require employees to put them in the SAM with other
personal hand carried items or do you have employees wear the hard harts
through the whole body monitor(s) (Argos/PCM/Portal)

Duke's current "empty pockets" policy requires hard hats be monitored through
the SAM and we are interested in what other policies are being used and what
technical justification, if any, the policy based on.

Thanks,
Graham Johnson
