Greetings!

Callaway wishes to ask about how hard hats in Contaminated Areas at your 
station.  Yes, I understand this pops up about annually.

Please reply to the list, or off list, at your preference.


1.    Do you allow workers to wear personal hard hats in posted Contamination 
Areas?  Yes



2.    For those that do

a.    Do you use hard hat covers? No



b.    Do you allow personnel to wear their  hard hat through the Personnel 
Contamination Monitor? Yes, required   ARGOS-5AB with moveable head detectors; 
and then GEM-5



c.    Are hard hat mounted lamps addressed differently (do you require hard 
hats with lamps to be released via the SAMf)? No, stays attached to their hard 
hats. If removed then monitored in the SAM.
