Is anyone using aerial drones at nuclear power plants ? Is there a place for aerial drones at NPPs?
The FAA regulations are not finalized as yet, but the regulations on UAS is set to be put into effect this August. https://www.faa.gov/uas/ Would radiological surveillance, perimeter security, inclement weather, and other uses make drones worthwhile ? Some DOE facilities have implemented aerial surveillance, perhaps NPPs could benefit.
