Hello everyone

I am sending this out to the PRS membership list also.

We have a half-day session on the agenda for the February 2018 HPS meeting in
Denver. We need more presentations at this meeting. If you can attend and if
you want to make a presentation or just bring up items for discussion at the
PRS session that would be great. The HPS organizing committee in Denver is
asking for titles and abstracts but we can work with them on firming up our
agenda.

"If possible could you send us a schedule for your session and ask all of your
speakers to submit via the meeting submission page
(link<http://hpschapters.org/2018midyear/abstracts/index.php>). In the
"Topics" section please select "Other" and list "Power Reactors" in the text
field. Even if we don't have all of them, it is good to get them in the system
and laid out in our template. Whether you submit them or the presenter, it
doesn't matter to us but it may be easier to have the presenter do it since
there is some personal information they request (address, phone, email, etc...).

As for the deadline, we would really like to have everything by the 6th,
however, if you are getting the last abstract or two I could probably go
another week or so. Anything beyond that I can't confirm at this point. We
would like to advertise the Special Sessions in the November Health Physics
News publication and our deadline for that is Oct 14th"

There are currently 3 items on the agenda, "the Nuclear Promise, NRC
reorganizations and regulations, new instrumentation for NPP"

Perhaps a discussion on what China is doing in the nuclear reactor realm, or
what SHOULD be done with "spent" nuclear fuel, or what will be the effect of
new US regulations on the nuclear industry.

Best regards

Tom
