1. Histograms are used as part of the investigation into dose and dose rate
alarms. Depending on the event that can be kept with other paperwork as part
of the investigation. Can be very useful in event recreation.

2. Non-event histograms are not normally maintained for invalid and anticipated
alarms although they can be looked at to ensure the alarm was truly anticipated
or could have been a dosimeter malfunction.

3.I have pulled histograms off dosimeters for nonevents for reasons other than
#2 but that is not typical. We do not try and retain all histograms so if you
wait too long after the fact that data is overwritten on the dosimeter.

Subject: [powernet] Histogram Archival Questions

TVA External Message. Please use caution when opening.
Histogram Archival Questions:

1. Are event related histograms printed and archived with other event
documents?

2. Are non-event related histograms (e.g. anticipated dose rate alarms,
invalid alarms) archived?

a. If no, how long are they retained after review?

b. If yes, how long are they retained?

c. If yes, what format is used for storage?

3. Have you ever had the need or a request for a non-event related
histogram?

Thanks,
