While true the documents state need to verify both – I think the question is an item comes to the exit point and prior to putting in the TEM do you have to take a smear – is how I interpret the question. As done at many utilities – the answer is no – because you relay on the other process controls – such as a smear or survey as it exits a contaminated area and not requiring the smear at exit point prior to putting in the TEM.
