Susquehanna dove in the U2 suppression pool in 2017. Baseline WBC and
urinalysis was performed along with post-dive WBC and urinalysis.

Dosimetry multipacks included:
Extremity dosimeters on fingers and toes (no associated EDs)

Dosimeters with EDs on:
Left/right thigh
Head
Right/left arms
Chest

I believe all locations with EDs were transmitted to remote monitoring via
teleview. I would need to double check with instruments if you're interested
in that information. Let me know.

Assigned dose was based on highest exposed location of whole body.

Our procedure allowed the option of a back dosimeter, but it was not necessary
based on the expected rad conditions. One issue we ran into was a lot of
pushback on the dosimetry requirements, particularly regarding the back
dosimeter before the dive company understood that it was not going to be
required for this type of dive.

Thank you,

Subject: [powernet] Diving dosimetry question

South Texas Project would like to know what other NPP are doing for diving
operations as far as the number of SRD and DLR and the locations used. For
example how many DLR and SRDs are used for each diver and do they place a SRD
on extremities i.e. wrists/ankles?

Thank you,
Laura Stoicescu, CHP
