We sue an 80% dose warning. The SRD is configured to alarm at 80% of the RWP
approved setpoint and spelled out on the RWP. The workers are trained to
respond to the 80% dose warning the same they would a dose alarm. We
implemented this practice 12 years ago and have only had 2 dose alarms since.
Our access control software configures the dose warning function directly to
the dosimeter.

Subject: [Powernet] Does anyone use epd pre-alarm alerts?

At Ontario Power Generation we do not use pre-alarms. We want our staff
focussed on monitoring their epd, and not relying on a chirp that could be
mistaken for the actual EPD dose alarm.

Does your site make use of them?
Why or why not?
