We sue an 80% dose warning. The SRD is configured to alarm at 80% of the RWP approved setpoint and spelled out on the RWP. The workers are trained to respond to the 80% dose warning the same they would a dose alarm. We implemented this practice 12 years ago and have only had 2 dose alarms since. Our access control software configures the dose warning function directly to the dosimeter.

DO NOT click on any links or attachments unless you have confirmed that it is from a trusted sender. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- At Ontario Power Generation we do not use pre-alarms. We want our staff focussed on monitoring their epd, and not relying on a chirp that could be mistaken for the actual EPD dose alarm. Does your site make use of them? Why or why not?
