So the outer CA would include CA, RP Briefed required for entry, etc, with no inner boundary. We’ve sometimes had laydown areas similar to that where we will put up herculite or similar to contain the contamination, but RP brief would be required for anyone going in the CA regardless of going in the laydown area. If suspicious please forward to [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> for review. ________________________________ During our recent outage, we roped off and posted an area within a contaminated area with a trefoil and “RP Brief Required For Entry”, to differentiate it as an area where workers could not self-brief because contamination levels were greater than 10,000 dpm/100cm2. We omitted the Contaminated Area posting to avoid double-posting; the contamination levels were less than 100,000 dpm/100cm2 but greater than 10,000. Our QA department wrote a deficiency CR because the area “does not include a “readily identifiable” type of radiological hazard present, as required by NISP-RP-04, Radiological Posting and Labeling, Section 2.1 and Section 3.2”.
