Michelle, At Fermi, each instrument has a specific calibration procedure that the RP instrument techs are trained to by a qualified individual. Then must pass an evaluation prior to being qualified to perform. They are also required to be qualified as Electrical Worker. We prefer electronics and test equipment background or degree.
Additionally our RP instrument techs must become fully qualified Senior RP Techs because they are part of the RP organization not I&C. At Vogtle 1&2 we have separate qualification cards for each instrument that we have to qualify an individual on calibrations of the instrument. Additionally, we send them to a fundamentals electronic review class if they do not have a degree in electronics.
