I have been asked to perform a benchmark on whole body counts (WBC), level 1 personnel contamination events (PCE), and skin dose calculation thresholds. I have included what BFN is currently practicing.
1. What does your site consider a positive WBC? BFN currently considers a bioassay result (in vitro or diagnostic in vivo) that indicates the presence of licensed material in a quantity greater than minimum detectable activity (MDA) for the counter being used as positive. 2. What level positive WBC does your site document a condition report (CR)? BFN currently documents a CR anytime we have a positive WBC greater than the MDA for the counter being used. 3. What information do you record for level 1 PCE due to human performance issues? BFN currently documents a CR and documents survey results on NISP-RP-06 Attachment 4 Personnel Contamination Event Log 4. What is your sites threshold for a PCE requiring skin dose calculations?
