At Ontario Power Generation, we perform our own calibrations on Whole Body
Counters (5 Fastscans)

As part of the Canadian regulatory environment, we participate in annual
independent tests (all Canadian licensed dosimetry service providers with WBCs
participate) that are coordinated and reported on by Health Canada (Federal
government).

If we fail either internal QA or the Health Canada tests, we investigate,
correct, and retest appropriately.

Subject: RP Manager Dist list – WBC questions

Do you perform cross checks on Whole Body Counters at your stations?

If so,
Do you use a vendor to perform annual calibrations? What is the basis for
performing cross checks on WBC?
Can you send us your procedural guidance for post vendor calibrations?
Do you have challenges with cross check failures?
