Comanche Peak is currently considering how to release fire extinguishers that contain Potassium Bicarbonate from the RCA.
The extinguisher does not fit in our usual HPGe setup, so we have run some preliminary scans of an extinguisher on a WBC using NaI detection. Obviously the Potassium-40 peaked as the known contaminant and various unknown peaks populated as well (possible scatter). Does anyone have experience to share or suggestions on releasing extinguishers or other objects that do not fit in a HPGe?
