I would like to see UFS on PPC.
Why do you believe that UFS support would be such a big problem.
Remember that there is UFS support for the GRUB we use on x86.

Things may depend on other people's interest on PPC Solaris....
I believe that we need to make sure that being OpenSource is worth a lot.

I am not sure. I was in hope that Sun would contact Bruce Adler to check the
state of the ata driver that most likely is not encumbered.
