Yes, i just learned this last friday ;-)
Of course we need to check for the usage in the daemon, usually we can
just exchange

 switch (state) {
     case OFFLINE:
         ....
-    case ONLINE:
+    default:
        ....
 }

and it should be the same as it was now, later we can add additional
cases for "unknown" etc. states.

This is not really urgent, it is just a re-thinking of the former
concept :-)
