This could be related to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=164741
(in case this machine has an intel i810 chipset) or it probably is a
different Xorg issue.
Is there something in /var/log/Xorg.*.log* (you might have to ssh into the
box to get these log, as the looping X server will not let you access the
console).

No, this looks fine and suggests that your machine has a different
problem :-(
