I don't know why, but I am using my self-compiled kernel under
Dapper with suspend2 patches and it is working fine with kpowersave for
months already. I am pretty sure that you got something wrong with the
config files. However I remember I couldn't see anything special after I
enabled kdialog feature in hibernate scripts, too.
