Kartini Day Today, April 21 is remembered in Indonesia as the day of women�s emancipation that was initiated by Kartini. Hari Kartini explores the roles of women in society, families and the rich cultural diversity of Indonesia. Kartini�s life and work demonstrate the freedom that comes through creative self-expression. She shows to her people the need for self esteem as individuals and the need for an identity as a nation. Liberal education is firstly to nurture people, awakening within us a deep love for our nation and country with eyes and heart open to see the beauty, not to replace or erase the beauty of our own culture but rather to bring out the radiance of the culture. So, to all Kartini-s and Kartono-s there, Happy Kartini Day!
I really wonder why in India, our kartonos out-number kartinis drastically despite the fact that most of our kartinis are brilliant and outstanding students, name it Ayu, Dewi, Heni, Retno etc. Why, why and why? I would like to know kartonos point of view, may be MG, Qisai, Izam, Rizqon, Ulis, my dear friend Rizki and others. Nidya, i miss u dear, study hard and hope to see u soon.
