Welcome All New Students to India.

On the way from my hostel to Ganga dhaba last night I found some interesting welcome poster of political student unions in JNU like NSUI, AISA and ABVP in order to collecting new generation of activist. I met one of my friends, Kahramon and Cyriac George, they were upset of my body, "You look fatty!" Ehm..I just smiled and replied "Really?" and made a light chat cause we didnt meet after 2 months since he went to Uzbekistan in vacation. One thing that inspire me to type and share with you is come from that accident :-p like what Kahramon did since more than 2 months he didnt see me. Hey...you know that but I am saying about how fast "The Time" of changing in this era, Information Age.

In Arab newspaper, Khaleej Times I found that a lady who came to UAE and got a job in Dubai, you know she told that in 1978 there is nothing in Dubai, it just a small town, even for reaching Dubai you should go trough Abudhabi airport (capital). But now, it's fantastic city which have more than 500 tower and still increasing, look like "New York" in Midle East. It's center for bussines, industries, international events and the interesting is in my vacation last weeks whew..."Dubai Summer Festival". Bulk of Indian there hehehe....not a strange thing, right?

One of Enterpreneur in Hawaii, Robert Kiyosaki explained that in Industrial Age, for commonly new comer the rules were go to school, get good grades, find a safe, secure job with benefits, and stay there all your life. After twenty years or so you retire, and the company and the government take care of you for the rest of your life.

In the Information Age, the rules have changed. The rules now are go to school, get good grades, find a job and then retrain yourself for that job. Find a new company and a new job and retrain like mostly software engineer do, they prefer to develop their best in experiences than loyality to the company. You just hope and pray you have enough money set aside to last you much longer than age sixty-five because you will live well beyond the age of sixty-five.

In the Industrial Age, the defining theory of the era was Einstein's E=mc2. In Information Age, the defining theory of the era is Moore's law, which spawned the current ideology that the amount of information doubles every eighteen months. In other word, to keep up with change, you need to virtually relearn everything every eighteen months. Physicist absolutely know these hehehe...

In Industrial Age, change was slower. What you went to school to learn was valuable for a longer period of time. In the Information Age, what you know becomes obsolete very quickly. What you learned is important, but not as important as how fast you can learn, change, and adapt to new information.

When change occurs there is tipically resistance. In the last few years there are many examples of people recognizing the opportunities that arise during a period of change. Bill Gates became the richest man in the world because the older men at IBM failed to see the market and the rules changes. Because of these older executives failure to see these changes, the investors in IBM literally lost billions of dollars. Today, we have Information Age companies, started by 20 year olds, buying Industrial Age corporations run by 45 year olds like Time Warner Co. and American Online.

Eventually, I welcome all of you new fresh students and be ready in Information Age, make "Long Life Learning" be your habit and adapt to today's velocity even accelerate your vision for better future. Do your best in study, never give up and show that you are better than your classmates (Indian and another foreigner) and surely us, you are selected students and how best of you is loading how our country's image is, Indonesia. Like what Adidas said "Impossible is nothing!" but Nike said differently "Just do it". Pokona mah Semangat '45 lah....ehm...ehm...

Web!

If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.
