dipasang dalam hand phone (mobile, kata teman-teman di

SAN FRANCISCO: Texas Instruments Inc. has begun
developing a chip that could bring television shows to
mobile phone screens in three years.
The world's largest maker of cellular phone processors
said it has begun development of "Hollywood," a chip
that will receive live video broadcasts using emerging
standards for sending TV signals over the air.
Samples of the chip will be sent to customers in 2006,
and "mass deployments" of mobile TV broadcasts could
begin in 2007, TI said in a statement.
Cellular carriers could turn to broadcast-quality
mobile television as the next step in their multimedia
offerings, after music and the now-ubiquitous camera
phones.
TI said field trials of an early mobile digital TV
infrastructure have begun in parts of the United
States, Europe, and Japan.
