Traditional fisherman are almost depending to their
fish broker (bandar). In the first time cooperation,
fisherman feel a good result, but in the condition
lack of fish, they have a credit (utang) to the
brooker, untill they have to order their boy working
in their boat.

Recently they can buy a new boat. What is the prize of
a new boat ? its prize depend on its capacity. A small
boat made of wood, maybe sale in a two untill five
billion rupiah. If the boat made from glass fibre, it
will more expensive.

The prize of fish itself is depend to "lelang system".
The lelang system is almost depend to the present of
"qualified bakul".

The retribution collected by gov through syahbandar or
harbour office, is not aiming for boat's fisherman
upgrading.

yes the fisherman is always depending to fish
abundance in the sea. But we know also that there are
a numerous change of mangrove in Indonesia, became
tambak. By the way, fish are very very depending to
coral reef too. I do not have any information about
calculation between the wide of mangrove change or the
wode of coral reef change to the number of fish. Maybe
it will need focused study through a kind of marine
research.

But some how an expert always say that if the yield
value is good, so the fisheries there will be good
too.

this a risk of traditional fisheries method. If they
supported by other institution in workshop boat areas
and bank areas, and also marketing areas. I believe,
they will live better then now.

Do you now that in South West Java have done a rolling
program, This program was aiming for revitalization
fisherman there to have a new boat through a low
credit by a group of fisherman. So if the group
finished their credit, it will be give to other
groups. But now I never hear the story.

About corruption I am agree, will tend to lack of
budget for development of fisheries. But i think the
problem is not only corrpution case, we can also look
to ilegal fisheries. In other case, a rare of planning
in harbour areas for sea fisheries was also effected
it. Decreasing of mangrove and coral reef were also
efeected it too. Fisheries problem in Indonesia is
more like a complicated problem, soo it could not
finish by decreasing corruption only.

If there are someone who have work in KLH and
Departemen Kelautan read this here, I hope you would
like to give more story cearly :-).

Best Regards,
