Salam,
I am glad whenever to be invited by our Ambassador, Mr. Donilo Anwar on a
meeting with one of our Minister in Wisma Embassy last night (ehm.. I came soo
late). It mean I was appreciated, I was given a good value to be a personal, a
student and absolutelly an Indonesian in New Delhi. It was not only gave me an
enjoyment, I found Indonesian food that I never found in JNU, but the more
important thing is a chance to "get together" even we cant meet each other
cause of our activities. I felt like a family although we came from many places
in Indonesia, we have different culture, habit, character, and so on. But we
felt like a family, Indonesian family.
Further in our group PPI India, this mailing-list ppi-india. There�s no
boundaries wherever we are in India, Indonesia or another side of the world. No
matter they are student, alumni, senior, junior, even Embassy staff, citizen
and all of members we are member of PPI India. I�m glad to hear that our alumni
has decided to reunity in a frequently orders and developing a new spirit and
idea of unity for our community later, yes for "who ever came for study in
India". Great Alumni India! Thanks for Mr. Suhadi who pleased to provide his
home for our meeting.
Several week ago, I was surprised whenever Iskandar requested me to organize
his birthday party�woww� It was my new experience to be invited on birthday
party hihihi� (I don�t care whatever you say hehehe�) he definitely invite me,
appreciate me to be one of his close-friend and soo interesting that it�s a
unique event. There was not only an ordinary birthday party�that more than "get
together". That was that our called "Unity in Diversity" ehm�Mr. Karan Singh,
JNU Chancellor said it, he requested us too.
Iskandar invited more than 180 peoples. The uniqueness is they, the guests came
from many countries, they have soo many different in culture, surely way of
thinkings, habits and soo much. They not only a JNU students, some of them are
JNU Staffs, Our Lecturers, non-JNU students, Diplomats, Enterpreneurs and all
our friends who stayed in Delhi even outside Delhi who came to participate on
this event.
We had a dinner together by simple and spicy Indian food, delicious kebab, some
soft drink and eventually performing a dance, yes an ordinary dance on Open Air
Theatre Complex. You know we cant performing Indian dance it�s soo fast and
energic, they cant also performing "yapong", our traditional dance that
Iskandar and Nidya done on some events, even most of them never know that how
to performing what Christina, Charles, Ainura, Basheer or Hiroko done, but it�s
no problem we could move our body and enjoy on commonly musics that smoothly
mixed by DJ Pamma, a smiley Bihari. More than that we shared our experiences,
our thinking, our background, even funny jokes hmmm� I felt we have no
boundaries each other, We get together. It�s very nice. How if we can remove
all of boundaries and develope a vision to our better life??
One time whenever I said to one of Netherland girl, Annette who doing research
in JNU. I just made a joke, "Annette, I feel homesick and going to go home.
Will you join and visit my country on summer vacation? So, you will see what
have been made by your grand pa there.." she answered me "Ohh�dear, I don�t
think so, I'm so scarry..how if somebody know that I am Netherlander and
probably they will shoot me�hahaha�" Upps, I shocked, I should not said it. I
just made a boundary between us, we are student of JNU, although we came from
different countries which probably we had bad history but we still a family, we
are a human. That was part of what Iskandar and our FSA (foreign student
association) done to introduces our cultures, way of thinkings and the big idea
is how to develope a "Unity In Diversity" to performing an action for our
better life.
Whatever we are, we still a human, God�s creator and no more, we will never be
same at all but we can get together to developing our vision. Again, if I take
from some advices, "Togetherness is strength" although there�s a diversity but
we have one vision and work together for our better life.
