Mas Tony, It wasn't surprised me at all upon reading the thread. I've frequently heard the sentences precisely. Where? In the Japan Today Forum especially. Who said that? Young Americans or Caucasians, some Latinos as well. The reasons are various: from bad-experienced in adopting religions to some incomplete stories of human flaws that attributed to the religion.
Interestingly, I found that most of them thinking that the words are cool... :) Lazyness or incapable of searching for the truth bring them to take a shortcut. They create God in their minds and declare that religion sucks. By saying that, they think that they are really cool, more intelligent and peaceful persons compared to the "traditional followers" (hey, we only take from God but they create it; cool, isn't it?). But, often, we see that these cool people pay no respect regarding others' belief. What a paradox :D Well, actually, nothing important about them or about the words. Only for the sake of their intelligence and humanity, would it be better if they try to search more.
