As the description details, the program officer's grantmaking portfolio will focus on strategies that contribute to increasing citizen participation in local governance, strengthening civil society organizations, and promoting a democratic, inclusive, and gender-sensitive public sphere. The new Program Officer will be expected to evaluate this work against a changing context and recommend new strategies for the future. We are seeking someone with expertise in analyzing Indonesian laws and social, economic and political dilemmas; a strong commitment to promoting social justice, especially gender equity; a concrete understanding of and experience working directly upon the most pressing governance and civil society issues in Indonesia.
