Business lobby calls for Japan to set target of deep, own CO2 cuts TOKYO, April
22 KYODO
A business lobby group called on the government on Tuesday to set a target
of deep cuts in Japan's carbon dioxide emissions so the country can lead
discussions at the Group of Eight summit to be held in Hokkaido in July.
In a written proposal to the government, the Japan Association of
Corporate Executives said it is necessary for Japan to set an aggressive target
for greenhouse gas emission reduction and announce it to the rest of the world.
