Iran calls for setting up joint bank, shipping line with Oman
Head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines Mohammad Nahavandian
called on Tuesday for establishment of a joint bank and shipping line with Oman
and promotion of bilateral cooperation.
Speaking in a meeting with members of a visiting Omani delegation, the official
said Tehran and Muscat could expand their cooperation in various fields
including telecommunications, energy and cement industry.
A high-ranking delegation from Oman headed by Deputy of Sultan Qaboos, Fahd bin
Mahmoud al-Said, arrived in Tehran Sunday afternoon on a three-day visit to
Iran during which the Omani officials held talks with their Iranian
counterparts on issues of mutual interest.
Nahavandian said the best and most effective way to promote regional security
is to increase cooperation among all regional states.
In order to have a lasting trade exchange, Nahavandian suggested Iran and Oman
to establish a joint shipping line as well as a joint bank.
The official said that promotion of bilateral cooperation would lead to
economic prosperity.
