USINDO Special Event

"U.S. Election Race Outlook: Obama vs. McCain"
Presentation by Leading U.S. Pollster Peter Hart

July 15, 2008
4:00pm
Hyatt Aryaduta Hotel, Jakarta

Where does the 2008 U.S. election race stand as of July? Do Democrats have
the advantage, is it tight, or does McCain have the lead? What can change
in this race between July and November? What are the special challenges
for America regarding Senator Obama?

For the answers, USINDO brings leading pollster Peter Hart to Jakarta. Mr.
Hart's presentation will focus on American politics and the mood of America
as it heads into its presidential election. He will draw on his survey
work to explain U.S. voters' sentiments on major issues ranging from the
economy to social issues to foreign policy. He will also cover Americans'
views of Barack Obama and John McCain on a host of personal qualities and
political issues, and take an in-depth look at how Obama is viewed in the
context of this election. He will examine the challenges facing America in
electing the first African-American president, as well as obstacles that
both candidates will have to overcome to win support.

Mr. Hart is one of the leading analysts of public opinion in the United
States. He is a frequent network commentator, appearing on Meet the Press,
CNN, The Today Show, and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. For nearly 20
years, he has conducted the public opinion polling for NBC News and The
Wall Street Journal. His strategic consulting work for corporations has
included Time Warner, American Airlines, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, AT&T, and
Tiffany and Company. He teaches public policy at Duke University's Sanford
Institute of Public Policy, the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg
School for Communication, and at UC Berkeley.
