*Iran-Algeria joint commission meeting winds up*

The third session of Iran-Algeria joint economic commission wound up Monday
afternoon with an agreement being signed by the two countries.

The agreement was inked by Iran's Minister of Housing and Urban Development
Mohammad Saeed-Kia and Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific
Research Rachid Harraoubia in the presence of two countries' ambassadors.

Iran and Algeria also signed two agreements in principles on setting up
cement and wagon factories in Algeria.

In addition, the two sides' officials were determined to set up a committee
to follow up implementation of agreements signed by the two countries.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the third session of Iran-Algeria joint
economic commission, Saeedi-Kia said that such meetings would provide a good
opportunity for two countries to review their economic cooperation.

He added that two sides have prepared several memoranda of understanding
that will be inked during a visit to Iran of Algerian President Abdelaziz
Bouteflika.

The Iranian minister also stressed the need for further cooperation between
both private and state sectors of the two countries in order to carry out
Tehran-Algiers agreements.

The Algerian minister, for his part, said that his country is committed to
implement the mutually-reached agreements.

The Iranian minster of housing and urban development, heading a high-ranking
economic delegation, arrived in Algeria on Saturday to attend the third
session of Iran-Algeria joint economic commission.

During his three-day visit, he held talks with the Algerian president, prime
minister, minister of education and a number of other officials.
