Qatar supports OPEC decision on production cut Iran-Qatar-Oil Qatari Oil Minister Abdullah al-Attiyah said here Tuesday that Qatar welcomes any OPEC decision in its emergency meeting in Vienna this week. "Oil consuming states try to save their economy; we too have the right to save our economy," al-Attiyah told reporters on the sidelines of the Iran-Russia-Qatar Gas Conference when asked about the OPEC emergency meeting in Vienna this week. Al-Attiyah said, "If we only wait and don't do anything, it is not clear what will happen." Asked about an OPEC decision by the weekend on cutting oil production, al-Attiyah said, "Various proposals are on the table and OPEC should study them and make decision on them. Some propose one million barrels cut while others suggest 1.5 million barrels and some two million barrels cut. We should wait until Friday. We (Qatar) support any OPEC decision." He said that dlrs 100 price or more for each barrel is high and the best possible price for both consumers and producers is between dlrs 80 and dlrs 90.
