PLO to File Complaint to UN Security Council concerning Crimes of Colonizers against Palestinians RAMALLAH, October 21, 2008 (WAFA)- The PLO Executive Committee held Monday a meeting chaired by President Abbas in Ramallah in order to look into several national, regional and international issues, in addition to the internal situation. In the meeting, the Executive Committee decided to ask the Palestinian delegation at the UN Security Council to file an urgent complaint concerning racist crimes committed by Jewish colonizers against the Palestinians. "Their continuous aggressions against Palestinian farmers and their frequent attempts to force their way in the Al-Aqsa esplanade, require providing security to Palestinian residents." Moreover, the PLO said in a communiqué is ready to pursue negotiations with any coming Israeli government. The Executive Committee appreciated the Quartet's position towards the illegitimacy of colonization and the colonizers' repeated aggressions. The Committee is committed to keep a detailed track of the negotiations, so that the Quartet can effectively continue supporting the negotiations. The Executive Committee reviewed a report on President Abbas' visit to the United States, his meeting with President Bush, and the important meetings he held at the UN General Assembly. During these meetings, the President stressed the importance of a comprehensive final solution, and the refusal of partial solutions. He added that international efforts are necessary to stop colonial activities, the largest obstacle in the way of a just settlement and the application of international legitimacy. The Committee affirmed that the National Dialogue aims at bringing back a Palestinian national unity, and at forming a national reconciliation government that would end the siege, and that commits to the PLO agenda. This government will work on rebuilding the security forces, and supervise simultaneous presidential and legislative elections. The Executive Committee welcomes Fatah leadership positions insisting on a comprehensive national dialogue, which would include all Palestinian factions. Finally, the Executive committee expressed its appreciation to the UNRWA and all humanitarian institutions to lift the siege on Gaza, and called on all Palestinians to commemorate the late President Yasser Arafat on his martyrdom anniversary, on November 11.
