*Art Evening in Cairo Entitled: Ballads for Jerusalem* CAIRO, November 2, 2008, (WAFA)- *The Information and Cultural Center, of the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt*, organized, Saturday, an art evening entitled "*Ballads for Jerusalem*" in cooperation with Jerusalem Forum in the American University of Cairo. The evening was held on the University campus on the occasion of initiating Jerusalem celebrations as the 'Capital of Arab Culture 2009'. The evening was led by the Palestinian artists Reem al-Banna, from Nazareth, and Mansour al-Barghouthi. It was attended by 1200 diplomatic officials; in addition to the Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Nabil Amr. The evening started with a speech by Amr who praised the Center's efforts to serve the Palestinian question saying 'we are so close from freedom, we need a faithful fighter and a creative artist'.
