PCBS: WPI Increases by 0.97% and PPI by 0.64% in 2010 First Quarter

RAMALLAH, April 26, 2010 (WAFA)- Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics
(PCBS) said, today, Wholesale Price Index Increased by 0.97% and Producer
Price Index by0.64% during the First quarter 2010 compared with the Fourth
quarter 2009, in the Palestinian Territory.
The results indicated that there was increase in the price index for the
Palestinian Territory with its 2007 base year (2007=100) as follow:
The overall Wholesale Price Index (WHI) reached 112.47 in the 1st quarter 2010,
with 0.97% increase compared with the 4th quarter 2009, and the overall
Producer Price Index (PPI) reached 111.97 in the 1st quarter 2010, with 0.64%
increase compared with the 4th quarter 2009.
Analysis of wholesale price developments for this quarter indicates changes in
the following major groups as follow: Agriculture goods by+ 1.12 %;
Manufacturing group by + 0.92 %; Fishing by + 0.16 % ; Mining and quarrying by
+ 0.10 %.
Analysis of producer price developments for this quarter indicates changes in
the following major groups as follow: Fishing by + 0.94 %, Agriculture goods
by + 0.79 %; Manufacturing group by + 0.57 %.
