Ok, last round of changes I think. I've finished up the `OrderedBuilder` by using the same caching as merging, and have ported remaining use cases to the OrderedBuilder (besides the ones you introduced, which I will leave untouched until we're ready to merge) I also introduced a merge built upon this builder, which produces a lot less garbage than the other builder approach but is slightly slower than the other builder approach (and *much* slower than the current merge approach).
