You either love it or hate it. I am talking about exercising! And
according to statistics, most people hate it. The average adult needs to
exercise 30 minutes a day, most days of the week. There are many
different ways to get physical activity and fortunately the benefits far
outweigh the negatives.

There are so many different ways you can get 30 minutes of exercise
every day. Realize that adding physical activity to your daily routine
is a lifestyle change. Working out every day for the next month and then
stopping won't do you any good.

The important thing to figure out is which activities are going to make
you stick with it. Think about what is important to you. Do you want to
be outdoors? Do you want to be indoors? Does it need to be low impact?
Do you want to exercise with other people? What goals do you want to
accomplish? All of these are great questions you should ask yourself.

Another thing to realize that if a certain activity is not working for
you, do not quit working out altogether! Instead, find a different
activity that will make you happy and one that you can stick with for
the long haul. Also, you should try to vary your activities if you are
someone who gets bored easily. A couple of days a week you could do one
thing and you can alternate other days with a different workout or
activity.

Here is a short list of different activities you can do for 30 minutes a
day:

Walk

Run

Bike

Swim

Yard work

Aerobics

Yoga

All of them have different benefits. And many of them you can do in a
variety of ways. If you like to walk, you can walk in your neighborhood,
or you can find a nearby trail or park. The important thing to keep in
mind is that you get your heart rate up during these 30 minutes. If you
aren't trying, you aren't working!

The health benefits of exercising are huge! It keeps your weight down,
which effects many illnesses and diseases. Exercise builds stronger
muscles so you feel strong and capable doing any task. Working out is
also good for your mind; it releases endorphins that make you feel good!
