No I haven't changed the hours per day. The only variability is that Prime95
can run from 0 to say 22 hours per day, depending on my activites. This is a
laptop that goes to and from work/home/travel. The completion time goes from
Sep to Dec and back again pretty reandomly. I haven't correlated it much
with recent useage, except that letting it have a good long run, 24 hours
straight or 48 over a weekend, seems to bring the predicted completion date
down, as you'd expect if recent usage is influencing the prediction.

This is a phenomenon that comes up all the time. Eg. in a long download, 4GB
of some Linux distribution say, you'd like 2 predictions of time left, one
based on overall performance to date, one based on the last 5 minutes, so
you can assess the most likely outcome.
