I may be wrong (because I'm basically taking a stab in the dark), but if that machine has an original Pentium processor, it may be experiencing the floating point division bug. Anyone else have any ideas?
I'm pretty sure that the only 233Mhz Pentiums were Pentiums w/ MMX ("p55c" ?), and they were fixed. the fdiv bug was fixed somewhere around 166Mhz, and the fastest 'original' P54C pentium was 200Mhz. (actually, the *original* Pentium was the P5C, and it only came in 50-66MHz speeds, it had a X1 clock multiplier)
